Slack reported a power outage on February 26 and 27, with most features back on Thursday, but some problems with messages persistent; In particular, some custom apps and bots didn’t work as expected. In addition, a problem with Slack Connect meant that colleagues may not be notified if anyone pinged them with the @ command. According to DownDetector, about 3,000 people had reported problems on top of the problem.
From Thursday morning, Slack said most features had been restored. Users who are still experiencing problems were asked to reload slack (Command + Shift + R on Mac or Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows or Linux).

The loss of functionality Wednesday was “related to Events API and is a symptom of a previous incident about problems with connecting or loading the slack,” plus a non -related problem with Slack Connect causing the lack of messages, Slack said.
Our Sysadmin team at work announced problems with Slack around 10 pm. 13.00 EST on February 26, where some employees were unable to send messages. (My work was not disturbed.)

On Wednesday night, Slack’s Status Web site said: “We are continuing to work on working with database -Shard -repair and has made progress in restoring affected replicas, although users still experience influence.”
Later that day, Slack staff worked on the “re-processing of the backend job to try to earn in queue events API requests.” Slack suggested the following mitigation for users who had trouble mentioning others using Slack Connect:
- Open the Slack Desktop app, and then click Help in your computer’s top menu bar. (On Windows 10, click the three horizontal lines icon at the top left of the slack app.)
- Choose Troubleshooting.
- Click Clear Cache and Restart.
The relaxing team said the cause of the power breaking was “a symptom of a previous event” and did not specify further.
Messages, workflows, threads and other API-related features were last to come back online.
Previous power cuts and slacks space on the market
Slack has not had a major power outage like this since July 2023. Before it went the service several times in 2022 and in January 2021.
