Jimmy White needs either another invitation card or a trip to Q -School to stay on the circuit after losing in the World Cup.
Jimmy White’s absence from the World Cup will extend to 20 years after he lost in the second qualification round.
White, 62, has not shown on crucible since a first defeat in 2006 and has lost in qualifying every year since.
This record stretched to a 19th year when he was beaten by Ashley Carty.
Rotherham Potter beat the six-time finalist 10-5 at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
White needs either another Invitational Tour card or a trip to Q -School to stay on the circuit after suffering a relegation.
Former German Masters -Winner Anthony Hamilton Stopped a sensational fightback from Steven Hallworth, who had drawn 9-0, and created a momentum-cubicle approval to win 10-8.
No player has ever won a best-of-19 match from 9-0 down, but Hallworth seemed to be on course for the story as he led 63-0 in the 18th frame. The match looked like a final frame when Hamilton called for an approval of 69 to win on the black.
“It’s so hard as trying to get over the line in a ranking final. It’s a story that will follow you around the rest of your life. If you’re losing from 9-0, you’re on quizzes and sowing. You don’t want it,” 53-year-old Hamilton said.
“He was gone in the first session I was gone there. It was a proper battle with two halves. And when I say away, I mean away. It’s not like golf where you can go for a little walk. You’re gone. You’ve played all these years and can’t do eight. So it was definitely the best break I ever made.
“He bossed everything. You see that the scoreboard is ticking and you’re all over the gaff!
