As a rookie cornerback and point return for Eagles, Dejean made a reputation for himself in 2024. In 16 game performance – nine of them as a starter – he got 51 tackles, six passport deflections, a forced fumble and three fumble recovery. Now he stands on the brink of something that most players only ever dream of: winning a championship ring.

Before the big game day, Dejean collaborated with MyFitnessPal and shared his reflections on his first season in Philly, and how he prepares himself physically and mentally to cement his place in Eagle’s story forever.

MFP: What is it like to be part of the Philadelphia Eagles, especially during a season where you are pushing for the championship?

CD: It’s an incredible experience. The energy of Philly is electric and when we are on a championship race, the whole city feels like it’s behind us. The closet space is buzzing and the team chemistry is on one all the time. Everyone is locked inside and focused on the same goal, and it is an honor to be part of something so special.

MFP: How does the culture of Philadelphia and among the Eagles’ fanbase motivate you as a player?

CD: Philly fans are the next level – they are passionate, loyal, and they keep us in charge. You can feel their energy on game day and it makes you give you everything you have. You don’t just play for the team; You play for the city.

MFP: What role does nutrition play in your performance, especially in a long season of hard games?

CD: Nutrition is all – that’s the basis of how I am doing. Without the right fuel, I can’t bring my best to the field. It’s not just about energy; It’s about improvement, focus and staying healthy through an overwhelming schedule.

I need quick burning carbohydrates for explosive energy and a solid balance between protein to help with muscle repair, especially after high -intensity games. To remain light but strong is the key for me, so I focus on lean proteins, fresh vegetables and healthy fats to keep my energy up without feeling weighed down. MFP: Are there any specific foods or meals you swear to remain in peak load for your role?

CD: I am a big fan of lighter, energy-packed meals before gaming oatmeal with almond butter, bananas and honey for a good carbohydrate increase. After games or exercise, I focus on recycling meals such as grilled chicken, sweet potatoes and spinach. Staying hydrated is also huge for me, so I drink constant water and add electrolytes when needed.

MFP: When the effort is so high, how do you balancing the physical grinding of maintaining the maximum mental focus?

CD: It’s about routine. Nutrition, sleep and the mental game are huge. I make sure I get the right fuel, keep my improvement on point and take time to mentally reset. The mental game is as important as the physical or nutritional, especially at this level.

MFP: Looking forward to the big game, what do you think will be the biggest challenge for you as a player and for the team as a whole?

CD: The biggest challenge is to maintain the razor -sharp focus and physical explosiveness throughout the game. As a cornerback, I need to be ready to lock my assignment on every plays, and as a pount-return, I am constantly thinking about placing and making decisions about split second. But I can’t let the moment get too big. It’s easy to get caught in the hype, but at the end of the day it’s just another game. We’ve been preparing for this all season, so it’s all about sticking to what we know, relying on our preparation and leaving it all on the field.
