Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner has dismissed “flattering” speculation that connects him to Ferrari.
A report from German publication Bild The Ferrari team’s principal Frederic Vasseur’s position is threatened after a disappointing start to the 2025 Formula One season, and the Italian team’s bosses have had “informal” contact with Horner.
The British has been at the helm of Red Bull since their start in 2005, having monitored six designer titles and eight driver titles, four of which have been won in the last four years of Max Verstappen.
Speaking on the Spanish Grand Prix on Friday, told Horner Sky Sports F1: “It is always very flattering to be associated with other teams.
“My whole career has been used with Red Bull, and I’m absolutely committed to this team.
“There are so many rumors and speculation these days, it’s not even worth listening to.”
Horner had previously been asked about the speculation under Team Principals ‘press conference in Barcelona while sitting with Alpine Executive Flavio Briator, who is currently taking on Team Principal tasks after Oliver Oakes’ sudden departure.
Horner said: “My commitment 100 percent is with Red Bull. It has always been and will definitely be in the long term.
“There is always a lot of speculation in this business, people coming there, people who go there. People in the team know exactly what the situation is.
“My Italian is worse than Flavio’s English, so how on earth would it work?”
While Horner has delivered impressive results during his tenure, the 51-year-old has endured a turbulent last 18 months on and off the field.
Requirements of inappropriate behavior made against him in February 2024 by a female colleague were rejected after an appeal last summer. Horner denied the accusations through.
Red Bull has seen several high -profile characters leave, including legendary designer Adrian Newey and sports director Jonathan Wheatley.
Sergio Perez lost his seat in late 2024 despite having a contract for this year, and Liam Lawson lasted only two races as Verstappen’s teammate, now Yuki Tsunoda.
Horner ‘absolutely’ self -assured verstappen’s future is with Red Bull
Also associated with a movement away from Red Bull has been Verstappen, with Mercedes and Aston Martin both understood to be eager to sign him.
Autosport This week reported that a possible exit clause in Verstappen’s contract is set to close on the Austrian Grand Prix at the end of June with the Dutchman more than on course to be in the top four of the drivers.
The report claims that if Verstappen had been outside the top four after the Austrian Grand Prix, he would have had the opportunity to break his contract for next season.
Asked if the report told Horner Sky Sports F1: “We will never discuss contracts with drivers in public. There is speculation about everything these days, so it will be something else tomorrow.”
Then asked how sure he is that the long -term future of Verstappen will be with Red Bull, Horner added: “Yes, absolutely.
“Max knows the commitment of the team. He knows and we know what he expects from the team. He believes in the people who are around him.
“Nothing is ever absolutely guaranteed in life, but everyone knows where they are at.”
